DESCRIPTION
Gamelan is a set of traditional Indonesian instruments used used extensively in Central and Western Java, as well as in Bali. Its basis is formed by percussion instruments, but has as guest instruments celempung (a flat, plucked instrument), suling (a bamboo flute), and rabab (a two stringed, bowd lute). The sound of the gamelan has a very pleasant, therapeutic effect, and the special structure of the slendro creates a feeling of tranquility and harmony.
